Binding and Loosing

I teach on a basic tool God has given us that delivers maximum damage against strongholds of evil spirits. Whatever problem that you see that is contrary to God's will you can bind and loose spirits. Wherever you are in need of deliverance or if you want to be a deliverance worker to help someone else be free as you are getting free, binding and loosing is an essential tool that you will use everyday of your life. At the end of the video is an activity you can work on with God throughout the week to see God move in your life and the lives of others.

Binding means to forbid, loosing means to permit. Or an even easier definition would be binding = no and loosing = yes.

Matthew 16:19 - And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

When we have a problem or someone else has a problem and they ask us to pray this is how we pray. Especially if there is a demonic component that is at work. And many times even if it is a physical problem there is a demonic component at the very least trying to stir up that physical problem and use it for evil to create more problems. This is how we spoil the plans of the enemy.

Some Christians when asked about binding and loosing will say that they bind Satan every day, but binding Satan would not be very effective as we need to be much more specific to the type of situation we’re dealing with.

Ephesians 6:12 - For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Paul did not say we fight directly with Satan, but said this instead, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” When you bind, bind on that level and you will be effective and get results rather quickly if you are persistent.

Bible Verses for Spirits

Let’s examine this idea of spirits. We know that there are different types of spirits.

There are all kinds of spirits in the Bible.

Isaiah 11:2 - The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him,
The spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The spirit of counsel and strength,
The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.
(Rev. 1:4, Rev. 3:1, Rev. 4:5, and Rev. 5:6)

1 John 4:1 - Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Hebrews 1:7 - And of the angels He says: “Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire.

Hebrews 1:14 - Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

Part of my inheritance as a child of God is that I have access to angels who will minister for me.

The angelic spirits of God are ministering spirits for those who will inherit salvation.

When Jesus was in the garden he said to Peter.

Matthew 26:52, 53 - Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place; for all those who take up the sword shall perish by the sword. Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels?

When Jesus was betrayed in the garden. Jesus is our example and he had access to angels just like we do.

Jesus Ministered to by Angels

Matthew 4:11 - Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and began to minister to Him. (Fasting)

Luke 22:43 - Now an angel from heaven appeared to Him, strengthening Him. (Praying)This is not about angel worship

IN Jesus we have authority over evil spirits

Luke 10:18-20 - And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

This is not about angel worship

We are never to worship an angel.

Revelation 22:8-9 - I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things. But he said to me, "Do not do that. I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brethren the prophets and of those who heed the words of this book. Worship God.

Angels will not accept worship. Be careful though because demons do accept and want to be worshipped. Never ever pray to or worship an angel. Beware, demons can also appear as angels of light.

Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven...

Matthew 18:18 - Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven… What that verse means is that whatever you bind on earth, I’m down here on earth. In the name of Jesus, I bind the spirit of lust in me, in somebody else, or across the country, or in the heavenlies.

I say Father, in Jesus name, I bind this wicked spirit down here. So what does God do? The request is made on Earth. It’s bound in heaven. Heaven says, request approved, stamped approved, and it goes through and instantly the binding takes place. I may not see it. But the spirit world trembles before it.

Now, look at the second part of Matthew 18:18.

Matthew 18:18b - and whatsoever you shall loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

Whatever I loose on Earth.

Father in Jesus name. I want to send someone some spirits of encouragement, some spirits of consolation, some spirits of joy, some spirits of peace. Will you please send those angels to so and so now. Whatever I shall loose on earth shall be loosed where? In heaven. I say father, would you send/loose those angels and heaven says approved. When praying in Jesus name, God releases those angels to go immediately to do it. Now they can go to China as quickly as they can go right here. You have to understand that time does not bind them. The space problem doesn’t exist for them. Quicker than you can think they’re on the job doing what you requested in Jesus name.

Don’t be stingy.

(Unwilling to spend; ungenerous)

You can loose angels by the legion. You do not need to be stingy about them. Heaven has so many angels. This is one time you do not need to be worried about how many. We have a 2 for 1 majority advantage when it comes to angels to demons. (Revelations

You know why binding and loosing is so deadly? Because the average believer can pick it up and do it. You don’t need to take a course in Bible school. You can just take a few simple verses and move in your authority. And things will start to happen within a week to 2 weeks. Even in the difficult cases you’ll begin to see changes.

The Parable of the Persistent Widow

If you are more persistent than the demons, you will win!

Unfortunately, as believers sometimes we give up too easily. A simple microwave prayer is not usually going to get the job done. Faith is really just plain persistence that will not give up. Luke 18:1-8

You might ask how often should you bind and loose for a specific situation? Don’t do it one time and say oh that didn’t work. Do it everyday with expectant persistence that you are indeed binding demons and loosing God’s spirits (angels) for God’s will.

Keep doing it until you see the walls completely broken and then find another situation that needs binding and loosing and break apart that plan of the enemy. God’s people should be persistent enough to outdo the strategy of a group of demons. Also remember once you move into this realm of authority, the devil will try his best to get you to forget it, but stay at it to be effective.

We as believers have a power of attorney left to us by Jesus who came back from the grave saying, all power is given me in heaven and earth. That means we can call for these who are the ministering spirits as an heir of salvation. I have power in Jesus name to ask for in prayer to God for angels to come and minister to me or for me and whatever I need. Now, that’s a pretty wide scope, isn’t it? You might say, well, I don’t know, I’d be a little afraid to do that. Well, then you won’t take full advantage of your authority as a child of God.

Again binding and loosing angels is always prefaced with the idea that I am asking God to send angels first. I am not commanding angels, but rather asking God to send angels for His will and then I give the proclamation that I bind this or that and then I am loosing this or that. In my own power and for my own will I have no ability or power to control angels. Angels only do the will of God. I can not control angels for my own purposes. Witches, wizards, and warlocks use spirits, which are really demons to do what they want, but really they are simply being used by Satan to align with his kingdom of evil and in the end the spirits that they think they control will drag their spirit down to hell. The people will not be able to control those spirits. The evil spirits have control and complete legal rights to them because of their sin to do evil.

You can send ministry angels ahead of you for that interview. You can send ministering angels to take care of a difficult situation that you’re facing, to create favor with you with the people that you need favor with. Will this solve all your problems? No. But it’s certainly worth trying and doesn’t cost anything. It’s been paid for on the cross. You’re going to find out that this will work if you combine it with intelligent prayer and Bible study, so that God can guide you into the strategic places. He’ll throw you into the forefront of the battle to bind and loose and send the spirits of God to others, to bless them, to encourage them.

For unsaved people you can bind the spirit of antichrist and other spirits working with the Antichrist spirit. You can loose the spirit of adoption to draw them to God. You can bind lying spirits that have blinded. You can loose spirits of truth so will hear and see spiritual truth. You can bind the spirits that have influenced them so that they are not free to use their own free will to seek Jesus. You can loose spirits of freedom in their will to clearly choose God of their own freewill.

You can bind spirits of slowness and dullness and lack of concentration, motivation and other things that interfere with children being able to learn in school. And you can lose spirits of retentive mind and other things listed in the booklet as suggested things of concentration, ability to concentrate, ability to remember and so forth. You can lose all of those things into your children. You can do this every day.

You can either choose to fight the enemy and whip him or he will whip you. You might say that the enemy is whipping you real good. Well then you might as well whip him too. He’s trying to make you give up and passively take all of his attacks and not strike back.

Lesson Action Practice: Write down the biggest problem you are thinking of in your life. Identify what types of spirits need to be bound and what other kind of spirits need to be loosed. Ask God in Jesus Name to send angels for binding and loosing in regard to this problem. Then command in Jesus Name for the specific spirits to be bound and for other spirits to be loosed. Do this everyday with persistence.
