Kick Out Fear and Be Covered in God's Love
2 Timothy 1:7 - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
We should be walking in God's power.
We should be operating in God's love.
A sound mind from God should be our covering.
If we do not operate in these things, we know that something else is working in us to destroy from within.
It is through faith that we connect with God.
Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
This is how we have salvation in God. Romans 10:8-11 Therefore we must believe.
Spirits of doubt and unbelief will always try and get us to listen to them so that we can not walk in the power of the Lord. But we must resist. The fight is in our mind, first.
Romans 5:1-2 – Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Fear leads to idolatry in our lives.
What others say becomes higher than what God says.
We must live by the Word of God.
Matthew 4:4 – But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
What are we living for? Are we living for the game of our favorite team, our new outfit, a place for vacation, a video game, or even our favorite preacher?
Do we have a real relationship with our Father who loves us more than we can even know and experience? Everything else other than God we put our time and effort in will eventually be lacking and lead us into depression and emptiness.
Trusting in the Father, even in the face of death, keeps us from the bondage of fear.
Matthew 6: 31 – Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Fear always involves taking thought for your life.
Faith in the Word of God produces hope for the future.
Hebrews 11: 1 – Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Do we have to see it in order to believe and trust in God?
Faith is always in direct opposition and the other direction as fear.
Therefore we can know that doubt and unbelief is a stronghold the enemy uses to keep us in fear.
Jesus appears to his disciples at different times and to different people at different times after he resurrected. But Thomas did not believe it. He said he had to see it to believe it. Why? Because he had a spirit of unbelief working in him. Disappointment would not let him have any faith. Therefore he had doubt and even unbelief. Jesus says something so powerful when he speaks to Thomas in John 20:27 - Thomas, because thou has seen me, thou has believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Let that be us.
We must choose whether we will walk in faith or fear.
Romans 8:2 – For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Your obedience to the Word, mixed with you faith, is what will make you free.
Hebrews 4: 2 – For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
To defeat Satan with the Word of God, you believe it, make it a part of your life and act on it, by faith.
Walking out in faith does not mean there is no more fear.
1 Corinthians 2: 1-3 – And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
Allow yourself time to become a person of faith.
Isaiah 33:14 - The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
Hypocrisy can bring in fear. Repent and renounce this in Jesus name to break this curse.
Isaiah 66:4 - I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.
What we fear can come on us. This comes on us when God calls out to us and speaks to us, yet we turn our back on God and decide to do evil and enjoy the sin. This is a door of a curse that is brought on us by our actions. If that is you, simply repent and renounce the hardness of your heart towards God and He will forgive you.
