Prayer to Trust God While Not Listening to Fear and Anxiety

Prayer to Trust God While Not Listening to Fear and Anxiety

We have been looking at getting better sleep through using God’s Word to believe and have faith for better sleep. We have also looked at eradicating fear by filling ourselves with God’s remedy through Agape love as well as confessing fear. Now we need to also consider that having fear that destroys our sleep is us choosing to not trust God. This is sin when we decide that we will hold onto Satan’s lie he is speaking to us to believe his spirits of fear. We must in turn believe God will help us and take care of us. To overcome fear and have better sleep, we must start to choose to believe God through faith and resist lies of doubt and unbelief. Here are some Scriptures that helps us to trust God more and have faith in Him.

The opposite of trust is distrust, doubt, and unbelief. Unbelief will stop us trusting in God. Lies from evil spirits will have us be not able to trust God for good things. We should confess not trusting in God to help us with our sleep or for fear we may be listening to.

Example from Mark 9:14-26 of a Man Asking Jesus for Help for Unbelief

And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them. And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him. And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them? And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not. He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead. But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.

This was included in the Bible for our help when we are stuck in unbelief and doubt. Just as the man called out to Jesus to help remove distrust, so can we do that now. Let us go to God and ask for help to remove all that hinders us trusting in God.

Prayer to confess and repent from doubt and unbelief.

Father, I come to you in Jesus Name. I am sorry for not trusting in you and for listening to doubt and unbelief. I confess and repent for not trusting that you will work in my life when I am praying to you. I ask that you will help me to trust more in you. I now pray and believe what your Word says about trusting you. Make me stronger as I focus on trusting you more and breaking off all unbelief and doubt.
